To enroll, please fill out the online registration form on our website, pay the initial reservation fee, and follow the prompts to create your account with us.

Securing a place for your child in the course requires a £289 reservation fee (non-refundable), which covers:

  • The first month’s tuition fee: £189
  • A one-time registration fee: £100

From the second month onward, a monthly tuition fee of £189 will be automatically charged each month, continuing until December of Year 6. You have the flexibility to end the tuition at any point by cancelling your monthly subscription.

An initial assessment wouldn’t be a useful exercise; it would only tell us what they’ve learnt so far at school. It wouldn’t test their potential ability to meet the 11+ standard at the beginning of Year 6. As soon as your child begins their tuition journey with us, it’s common to see them swiftly advance beyond their existing level within the National Curriculum. Through our program, their genuine capabilities will be accurately gauged from the assessments conducted through our monthly mock exams, offering a reliable measure of their academic growth and potential. What we would say is that the 11+ is demanding, and if your child is struggling to achieve age-related expectations at school, perhaps more general tutoring would be more helpful than 11 Plus Tuition. We ask you to confirm that your child is working at or above age related expectations when you register. If they are not, we would like to discuss your child with you before you register to see if they are suitable for this course. We do not wish to tutor children for the 11+ if it is not in their best interests.

This course progressively prepares your child for entrance into any grammar or private independent school in the UK, covering all major examination boards such as GL, CEM, and ISEB.

Our instruction meets the rigorous standards necessary for admittance into grammar and private schools, up to and including the scholarship level for Year 6 students. The list of schools can be found here.

All course materials, practise papers and 11+ preparation resources are included. Reading widely outside the course is an important part of the 11+ journey and any reading books are not included as part of the course.

Our success rate is extremely high with an average of 93% for children who we taught from Year 4. Children we teach only for one year have a slightly lower pass rate at an average of over 82%.

These rates are incredibly high and a testament to the thoroughness of the course.

Tuition

Our program offers comprehensive tutorials in both verbal and non-verbal reasoning, catering to the requirements of most grammar and independent schools, which typically evaluate students in at least one, if not both, of these areas. Nowadays, the majority of grammar and private schools incorporate Verbal Reasoning within their English assessments and Numerical Reasoning, which includes non-verbal/spatial problem-solving, as a crucial component of their Maths exams.

Our programs are meticulously organised and come with comprehensive guidance, allowing your child to quickly adapt to independent study after they’ve started.

There’s no requirement for parental presence during every lesson. In fact, it’s our recommendation to avoid this. Beyond the significant time investment required from both you and your child, fostering self-reliance and concentration in your child is critical for their 11+ exam success.

Creating a study schedule with your child could be beneficial, enabling you to align their study times with the rest of your family’s activities and their personal commitments, such as extracurricular clubs or school assignments.

The effectiveness of our programs is well-documented through our high success rates. However, it’s important to recognise the rigorous nature of 11+ preparation—success comes from diligent effort and the unwavering support and commitment of parents.

We encourage every parent to view the 11+ prep process as a valuable chance to assist their child in reaching their fullest potential and maintaining consistent support throughout their 11+ journey.

Homework plays a crucial role in your child’s study plan, assigned as weekly timed tests across all subjects. These tests are key in reinforcing what they’ve learned, tracking their advancement, and enhancing their time management and problem-solving skills.

To facilitate your child’s homework and minimise the need for extensive parental involvement, we’ve incorporated vital support, tips, and directions directly into these weekly timed assessments.

We excel at introducing new concepts in a way that’s clear and accessible to children, offering them the opportunity to practice their newfound skills and ensuring these concepts remain fresh in their minds throughout the course.

Our tuition programmes are so thoroughly guided and articulated that questions from students are uncommon.  Additionally, students have the flexibility to revisit any segment of the tutorial for clarification or further review whenever necessary.

Though our courses are crafted to minimize uncertainties, we remain readily available for support. Users of our tuition programmes have access to a dedicated email for any queries, with our commitment to respond within 24 hours or even sooner.

We stand out as one of the select few 11 plus tuition providers that prioritise creative writing across all our primary courses. Mastering creative writing is a journey that unfolds over one or two years, requiring consistent practice and dedication.

Our approach nurtures their writing abilities by introducing a variety of techniques applicable across numerous writing styles and genres. Through our online videos, we offer an extensive collection of pictures and imagery, designed to cultivate mood, atmosphere, and spark your child’s creative spirit.

Typically, Year 4 students engage in approximately 4 hours of study each week, split into roughly 2½ hours of lessons and 1½ hours of homework.

For Year 5 students, the weekly workload is about an hour more, comprising 2½ hours of lessons and around 2 hours of homework. As students approach the end of Year 5 and progress into Year 6, this workload may slightly increase to accommodate advanced 11+ practice papers.

Please note, the actual time spent each week can vary slightly based on the topics and types of work assigned. The durations mentioned are averages, recognising that individual students may complete tasks at different speeds based on their unique capabilities and learning pace.

Included in our principal 11+ tuition is our monthly mock exam. Each month, this course allows your child to undertake timed practice exams across all subjects, mirroring the format and digital answer submission they’ll encounter in the actual 11+ assessments.

Comprehensive reports and insights will be provided to you, pinpointing areas needing improvement and any time management challenges. This valuable feedback is designed to bolster your child’s confidence, precision, and exam strategy, preparing them thoroughly for the 11+ examinations.

Each month, a comprehensive report and feedback across all subjects will be sent to you, outlining areas in need of enhancement and any timing difficulties your child is experiencing. This report is instrumental in tracking your child’s progress over the month and identifying specific areas for targeted review.

Additionally, for the more complex maths papers encountered in Year 5 and Year 6, we offer in-depth video solutions. These not only explain the answers but also provide an opportunity for your child to revisit the exam papers. This practice serves as further review, reinforcing the essential mathematical strategies and techniques needed for success.

Our 11 Plus programme is thoughtfully designed to ensure your child is thoroughly prepared for entrance examinations across the spectrum of grammar and private independent schools, accommodating the requirements of all major examination boards, including GL Assessment, CEM (Centre for Evaluation & Monitoring), and the Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB).

With a focus on excellence, our curriculum is strategically aligned with the rigorous academic standards demanded by top-tier grammar and private schools. Our teaching extends to preparing students for scholarship-level challenges in Year 6, offering a comprehensive foundation that not only meets but exceeds the entry requirements of prestigious institutions.

We offer help and advice for any specific inquiries you may have about schools and procedure. Keep in mind that application processes, catchment area requirements, and exam schedules may differ across schools and change annually. You can find the most current admission policies directly on each school’s website.
